Reverend Ricardo Bartlett, II


The Reverend Ricardo Bartlett, II was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 3, 1978.  He serves at the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Dr. Ricardo Bartlett, Sr. 


He is a community advocate, teacher and musician whose teachings has affected the lives of those at Greater St. Paul and many others throughout the country.

Rev. Bartlett, II graduated as Valedictorian from Millersburg Military Institute in Millersburg, Kentucky.  He has a BA in Religious Studies and a BA in Business Administration from Regent University in Virginia. 


He and his wife, Monique, are proud parents of:  Ricardo III, Jordan, and Madison. 

Reverend Frank Walker, Jr.


The Reverend Frank Walker, Jr. was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 25, 1977 and began preaching in August 1993.  He has been a member of the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church for 12 years. 


He has a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Madonna University in Michigan and is currently completing requirements for a Master of Pastoral Ministry. 

He is married to Laura Walker.

Minister Sarah Deloise Hyman


Minister Sarah Hyman was born April 11, 1950 in Demopolis, Alabama. In 1968 she and her husband relocated to Detroit, Michigan. She completed 30 years of employment with AT&T.


Seeking to learn more about the God that she serves, she returned to school, enrolling in Destiny School Of Ministry.  Minister Hyman obtained an Associate and Bachelors degree, concluding with a Masters Degree in Theology in 2007, from Destiny Christian University.


Minister Hyman accepted her calling into the ministry and received her license to preach in November 2008. She is currently a student at Ashland Theological Seminary working towards a Master of Arts degree in Practical Theology.

She is the mother of four daughters, Veronica, Cheryl, Marquel and Akeia, the grandmother of 7 and the great-grandmother of 4.


She lives by the Scripture in Galatians 2:20 which says “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.”  

Reverend Eugene George


The Reverend Eugene George was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 17, 1946.  He joined the United States Army in 1963 and completed two tours of duty overseas:  Korea, 1964-1965 and Vietnam, 1966-1967.  He was honorably discharged in 1968 and moved to California.  


He was baptized in September 1999 and shortly thereafter accepted his call to preach the gospel.  In 2007, he moved back to Michigan and joined the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church were he serves faithfully.

Rev. George is the father of one daughter, Penny Jeri. 

Reverend Robert Roscoe


Rev. Robert Roscoe was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where he attended the Detroit Public School Systems.  He earned a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Biblical Theology from Destiny Christian School.


Rev. Roscoe was called to the ministry in 2000.  He is a member of the Chaplin Staff for the City of Detroit Police Department as well as a member of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Chaplin Staff. 


Rev. Roscoe is the father of two; a son, Derrick Michael and a daughter, Asia Areial.

Reverend James Crowder


The Reverend James L. Crowder, Associate Pastor and Executive Administrator, has been a member of Greater New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Los Angeles, California, since 1981 under the leadership of the late Dr. Thomas P. Moss and continuing under the leadership of the current Pastor, Dr. Ricardo Bartlett, Sr.      Rev. Crowder also serves in a duo capacity, as Associate Minister here at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church.


Rev. Crowder currently conducts the weekly daytime bible study, worship services, and provides spiritual and moral guidance to the congregation and civic community.  He has served as a gospel minister for 27 years with a strong passion and dedication to visiting the sick and shut-in.


In his quest to learn more about the word of God, Rev. Crowder has attended Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, Reed Christian College and Theological Seminary, Liberty Bible Institution, Golden Gate Seminary, Los Angeles City College, South West Community College and Harbor City College.

He is the parent of two children; a son, L.J. and a daughter, Shayla.



Christian Education Ministry


Minister Matilda Bland


Minister Matilda J. Bland is a graduate of Ashland Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in Biblical Studies.  She teaches bible studies to adults at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church and at Mayflower United Church of Christ.  During past years she also taught Bible Study to children and youth.


Minister Bland is an occasional speaker throughout the Metropolitan area.  She also lectures on the African presence in the biblical text.


She has served as moderator of the Metropolitan Association of the United Church of Christ and moderator of Mayflower United Church of Christ.


Minister Bland is married to Dr. Robert O. Bland and she is the mother of 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren.
